The British Society for Haematology has appointed Katy Amberley as its first Chief Executive. Katy was promoted from Director of Operations following an interview by Trustees. This new role brings the BSH in line with other medical societies of an equivalent size.

Professor Charles Craddock CBE, President of the Board of Trustees at BSH said: “We are delighted to appoint Katy Amberley as the society’s first Chief Executive. Not only does she have considerable experience of membership organisations and as a charity trustee, but has demonstrated significant commitment to BSH over nearly ten years, helping to develop and grow the society.”

This new post will help build the society’s leadership and influence to ensure that the BSH becomes more effective at supporting and connecting its members which will strengthen haematology practice, knowledge, research and the care they provide to patients.
