GAIN 2017: Fungal infections – new challenges in vulnerable populations is a 1.5-day educational event for healthcare professionals in the UK and Ireland with an interest in invasive fungal infections.
Taking place 8–9 September at the King’s Fund, London, this CPD accredited meeting will provide an engaging opportunity to discuss the following key themes:
- Combatting emerging fungal pathogens and resistant organisms – including C. auris, C. glabrate and A. fumigatus
- Fungal infections in vulnerable populations – including patients with respiratory disorders, autoimmune disorders, haematological malignancies, the ICU, and paediatric patients
- Stewardship – it’s all about the money (debate session)
The meeting will combine interactive lectures, workshops, and debate sessions to create an interdisciplinary platform for sharing knowledge and best practice. As part of the plenary programme there is also the opportunity for six delegates to present their own case studies.
All delegate submissions will be assessed for their relevance and educational content by the GAIN 2017 Steering Committee, and the chosen applicants will get to present at the meeting and receive a GAIN 2017 presenter’s certificate.
GAIN 2017 Steering Committee: Prof. Malcolm Richardson (Manchester, UK), Prof. Gordon Ramage (Glasgow, UK), Dr Ignacio Martin-Loeches (Dublin, Ireland), Prof. Rosemary Barnes (Cardiff, UK), and Dr Samir Agrawal (London, UK).
