We are delighted to offer two grant categories to support attendance at our Annual Scientific Meeting (ASM). We have 25 scholarships available annually for Members, and this year we have introduced five Undergraduate ASM Scholarships

  

BSH Members Scholarship

Available exclusively to BSH Members, this scholarship can cover registration, travel and accommodation costs.

Maximum amount  

£750.

     
Application criteria  

Open to all BSH Members who have been with the Society for at least one year. Individuals can only receive this award once in a three-year period. 

We particularly encourage applications from Members who are clinical scientists, biomedical scientists, academic scientists, PhD students and nurse practitioners.

Applications are competitively assessed and priority will be given to Members in training or those who are presenting work at the meeting.

We ask all grant recipients to send a brief one-page report within eight weeks of their return from the conference. We showcase our best reports in our communications materials, including on our website and social media platforms.

Undergraduate ASM Scholarship

Available to medical students, this scholarship can cover registration, travel and accommodation costs. 

     
Maximum amount   £500.
      
Application criteria   Open to all students enrolled on a recognised undergraduate medical degree and resident in the UK.
     
Application details  

Applications should include a letter of support from the Head of Department or Clinical Tutor.

     
Sponsorship   Each applicant should be sponsored by a fully paid-up member of the British Society for Haematology.  This member should indicate their support by emailing grants@b-s-h.org.uk

  • A cover letter stating your reasons for attending the ASM.
  • A letter of support from your tutor or head of department.
