Online event designed for Internal Medicine Trainees and mapped to the IMT curriculum.

The annual BSH IMT Day will be delivered online, as a combination of pre-recorded lectures and a live small group webinar. The content is designed for Internal Medicine Trainees and mapped to the IMT curriculum to cover topics on malignant haematology, haemostasis and thrombosis, red cell disorders and transfusion.


The course has two aims:


  • To give the medical registrars of the future the knowledge and confidence to manage patients with haematological disorders
  • To inspire the next generation of haematology registrars 

The meeting may also be useful for senior nursing staff and clinical scientists who work in haematology.

  • Leukaemia and bone marrow failure – Dr Satarupa Choudhuri, Consultant Haematologist, Pennine Acute Hospitals
  • Lymphoma and myeloma Dr Anita Arasaretnam, Consultant Haematologist, Brighton & Sussex University Hospitals 
  • Red cell disorders and transfusion – Dr Emma Drasar, Consultant Haematologist, Whittington Hospital and University College Hospital
  • Thrombosis and haemostasis – Dr Julia Czuprynska, Consultant Haematologist, King’s College Hospital
  • How to get a haematology training number/Starting as a new registrar – Dr Catrin Cox, ST3, Kings College Hospital

The live webinars are repeated to allow more places with smaller groups – you should only attend one slot. If you have a preferred time slot, please email by Monday 11 October 2021. If we do not hear from you by that date, a time slot will be allocated to you randomly.
