The BSH Programme Committee has one vacancy for the position of Vice Chair. The Committee works with the haematology community to organise the Society’s Annual Scientific Meeting. We are inviting all members with experience in or an interest in event organisation to apply for the role.

Tamara Everington, the current Chair, will finish her term at the 2021 ASM. The Vice Chair will shadow the Chair for the 2020 and 2021 meetings and will take over for a two-year term as Chair after the 2021 ASM.

Tamara says: “Being Chair of the BSH Programme Committee for the ASM has been an honour and a privilege. I have had the unique opportunity to work with colleagues throughout all subspecialties and at all levels of seniority in generating innovative ideas to improve the ASM. Working closely with the President, BSH staff and MCI has developed my personal organisational skills and given me insight into a new world of event management. Above all else I have had enormous fun! Nothing worthwhile comes without effort and clearly this role requires a level of personal commitment. It is time for fresh eyes to lead the Programme Committee and I would be delighted to talk with you if you are considering taking on this role.”

Interested applicants should send a short CV and a brief statement outlining their interest and what they can bring to the Committee to educationofficer@b-s-h.org.uk.

The deadline for applications is Friday 18 January 2020.
