BSH genomics grants are designed to support members of the Society who wish to pursue a research or service development project directly relevant to the application of genomics within haematology.

Deadline: 1 December 2024. Retrospective applications will not be accepted.
We expect to let you know the outcome of your application between 16-20 weeks after the closing date. Please note: turnaround times are estimates. Our grant reviewers are volunteers, and this can occasionally lead to delays in the review process.

Eligibility:
Open to all BSH Members who have been members for at least a year.
All projects must be undertaken at a UK institution
Availability:
Five grants of up to £10,000
Insurance/legal requirements
A plan for appropriate ethical and/or institutional review board approvals should be detailed in the application and this must be in place before the award is transferred to the host institution.
Applications should include all relevant supporting information, including:
- a project plan
- a detailed budget
- previous relevant research
- short curriculum vitae of the member
- a letter of support from the Head of Service/Supervisor
Review process:
All applications will be reviewed by BSH's Laboratory Special Interest Group before final approval by BSH's Research and Grants Committee. Candidates may be asked to provide further information or attend a short online interview as part of the review process. All grants and scholarships vary in the time taken for review, depending on their complexity. We expect to let you know the outcome of your application between 16-20 weeks after the closing date. Report
All grant recipients are required to send a report on the outcome of the project supported by a BSH genomics grant within three years of the award, including information on whether further funding has been obtained on the basis of the grant, and are expected to submit an abstract to our ASM to present their work.
We will showcase the best reports in our communications, including our website, member bulletins and social media.
