Iron is critical for mammalian life on earth and disordered iron metabolism is recognised as a key element in most disease processes from infectious disease to cancer.
In this clinical meeting we will be bringing together UK experts in the management of iron disorders including leading figures from basic science, gastroenterology, hepatology and haematology.
Sessions will focus primarily on the two biggest clinical challenges for UK health - haemochromatosis and iron deficiency. Speakers will discuss current evidence and existing clinical guidelines. Discussions will consider the need for future guideline development and explore the current gaps in clinical research.
