BSH Partnerships for Progress Grant 

 

Funding of up to £100,000 per award; smaller awards considered where appropriate. Research must be conducted in the UK; international partners permissible if the UK site leads.

The BSH Partnerships for Progress Grant is a match‑funded scheme designed to catalyse high‑quality, high‑impact haematology research across the UK by enabling flexible awards (up to £100,000) that leverage co‑funding from charities, academia, NHS organisations, professional bodies and industry, with up to 50% in‑kind contributions permitted. 

Who Can Apply?

The grant is open to all BSH members, including clinicians, scientists, nurses and allied health professionals

What we Fund

Pilot data generation, cohort and registry research, translational and implementation science, and real‑world evidence studies.

What we are looking for

Impactful, UK‑based haematology research via matched funding that accelerates delivery, translation and workforce development.

Match funding required from an eligible partner (charities, academia, NHS organisations, professional bodies and industry) up to 50% may be provided in‑kind (e.g., staff time, data access, consumables). 

Research to be completed typically within 24 months. 

Grant recipients will on completion of their research: 
  • Submit a grant report
  • Submit an abstract for the BSH Annual Scientific Meeting
  • Feature in a social media video if asked to promote BSH's grants programme or to highlight impact of the grant.
