Designed for senior Haematology Specialty Registrars (SpRs) and newly appointed consultants, this event will provide practical insights, expert guidance and valuable networking opportunities to support your professional development.
Hosted and delivered by King's Health Partners (KHP) and Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust (GSTT), the programme focuses on key areas that are often underrepresented in clinical training but are essential for a successful consultant career.
Programme:
The evening will feature four focused 20-minute presentations from experienced consultant speakers, covering:
1. Mentorship and Personal Career Development - Prof Claire Harrison, Consultant Haematologist, Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust
2. Working with Industry - Dr Gerard Dolan, Consultant Haematologist, Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust
3. Private Practice - Dr Majid Kazmi , Consultant Haematologist, Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust
4. Clinical Trials and How to Become a PI/CI - Dr Reuben Benjamin, Consultant Haematologist, King's College London
Each session will be followed by a 5 to 10-minute Q&A, providing attendees with the opportunity to engage directly with speakers and discuss real-world experiences. Dedicated networking time will also be included.
Who Should Attend?
This event is open to:
- Senior Haematology SpRs who have completed FRCPath and are within one year of CCT
- New Haematology Consultants within four years of their first consultant appointment
CPD Accreditation:
This event will be accredited for 2 CPD points.
