Blood Thinners and Pregnancy: Information for People with Mechanical Heart Valves

This leaflet provides information on blood thinners, also known as anticoagulants, to people who have or are considering a mechanical/ metallic heart valve and are either pregnant or thinking about a pregnancy.

Co-created with British Society for Haematology, Thrombosis UK Charity, UKTIS, UKMCS and Guy’s & St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust team members.
