This educational event by the NIHR Research Support Service Leicester Hub, delivered by the University of Leicester and Partners, aims to provide haematology practitioners' with an overview of consensus methodology (Delphi techniques) to gain agreement in areas where professional experts, patients or stakeholders may co-produce recommendations for better practice. These approaches can also be applied to co-production of new approaches to care, services or guidance production. Techniques that will be discussed are included in the Delphi family of methodological techniques, namely Delphi, modified Delphi, and Nominal Group technique.

 

Consensus methodology can be applied in areas such as prehabilitation implementation, advanced care planning pathways, nutritional care during taste changes, emotional wellbeing support in sickle cell, implementation of ambulatory technology for medicine delivery approaches, antibiotic use in infection management, advanced care planning etc.
