Monday July 6
13.00-14.00, Online
Speaker: Dr. Laura Condon
This educational event aims to provide haematology health professionals and their stakeholders an overview of recognised structured approaches to gain agreement in areas less researched, but where professional experts, patients or stakeholders may together build sets of principles or recommendations for better practice - known as consensus methods. These approaches can be applied to co-production of guidelines or new approaches to care or services. Techniques that will be discussed include the Nominal Consensus Group technique and Delphi Consensus.
Potential supportive care examples where consensus may be needed due to less research include prehabilitation implementation, advanced care planning pathways, nutritional care during taste changes, emotional wellbeing support in sickle cell, implementation of ambulatory technology for medicine delivery approaches, antibiotic use in infection management, parallel planning.
